dancer bio: undergrad

 

 

At the University of Georgia, she was a dance major and studied not only for performance and technique, but the theory and science behind dance. She has performed as a member of CORE Aerial and Dance company, a prominently featured dancer in Spring Dance Concert, and a member of CADE:NCE performing ensemble. At UGA, she has also performed in collaboration with the department of music's orchestra for a performance of  "Herodiade" which has not been performed in the southeast United States since its first performance in the 1940s. She was also chosen to take work to a prestigious dance conference in Jamaica.  She has choreographed three works for the Young Choreographer's series, one of which was successfully presented at the American Conference Dance Association- a dance festival where the piece was adjudicated highly successfully this past March of 2017. The work, "Fill Your Mind, Feel Your Mind" was commented as highly innovative and epic. Also in dance, she has experience performing and teaching aerial, pointe, musical theatre, improvisation, and creative movement. She studied and is very knowledgeable about pedagogy, anatomy, technology interface, dance composition, and laban notation. She is also an experienced stage manager and lighting designer. She studied under many great mentors such as Bala Sarasvati, Tamara Thomas, and Dr. Lisa Fusillo. 

 

She was in charge of publicity at the University's dance department and has experience with social media marketing.
